Having helped men to break the porn addiction for 12 years, it can be the most difficult coping mechanism to break. It only needs a phone and the secret that no one would know but will lead to death.

I drank in every word of this - pun intended. Thank for you the brilliant summation. I couldn't agree more. I have more experience around alcoholism and possession that I'd like, and while I lack that larger perceptive and understanding you offer here as a therapist, I feel the truth of it.

"The future of addiction recovery lies in a new paradigm that integrates spiritual truth with physical and psychological support. It invites us to speak openly of possession and energetic interference, to offer tools that awaken sovereignty, and to build communities rooted in transformation and self-responsibility. Only through this deep integration can we break the cycles of addiction and reclaim true freedom; for ourselves, and for the collective soul of humanity." 🙏

(Now would be good. :-).)

Best to you, Dr. Kay.

I loved the idea of "reconsecrating" the self. That's exactly the work we need.

Also the notion that ideas can, when given the energy of individuals, worlds and maybe universes, take on a life of their own. I believe we live in what might be called a construction of ideas. I believe we are ideas in the mind of the Creator and we in turn create our own ideas and our own ideas create their ideas. In other words consciousness branches, flows, extends. Thought forms are as real as anything physical and birth the physical. They can be positive or negative, destructive or healing.

I study A Course In Miracles and have for almost 40 years. It speaks of "ego" (meaning "I") as a creation of the idea of separation into individuals from what was previously the oneness of all creation. It's the "I" we identify with... AS us. It's also referred to as the ego thought system. A way of thinking that makes everything separate from everything else. We have adopted it and it causes the drama of the splintered world. Ego is spoken of as having a quasi-beingness, almost a consciousness. It does not want to be destroyed and will fight back. The spiritual work is to reunify with the Creator as One. To reconsecrate..consecrate anew, as after a desecration, to make sacred again, to redirect. I mention ACIM ideas because I think "the ego" is a thought form, and possesses similar to the way possession is spoken of here. The "separation" is the original mistake and its correction is the final, and only, correction. Every addiction is a projection of salvation outward onto some thing, some activity, some condition, or some substance. ACIM calls them "idols, " and it says all idols fall, precisely because they are in no way capable of saving anything. The only thing that saves is a reconsecration, a reunification with the Creator and the abandonment of any other idea, belief system, or thought form.
